Residential Support Worker

We currently have a vacancy for a Residential Support Worker. This position is full time, weekdays, term time only (1700 hours per annum) and has additional enhancements and sleep ins paid. Staff at Marland are eligible for several benefits, which include the local government pension scheme, Vivup employer benefits programme and many opportunities for staff training and career development. 

 

As a RSW you will join a strong team of residential support workers. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build positive relationships with students, their families, and key professionals. You will be able to engage small groups of children in positive activities and play and meet the individual needs of the students across a 24-hour curriculum.  There will always be Senior Residential Support Workers and a Care manager on duty when you work. You must have the ability to support young people with complex needs, be resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations. You will have a genuine desire to work with young people and the ability to provide social and emotional support for them to overcome barriers and succeed.  The school puts the students in our care at the centre of our practice.  The school is proud of its relational practice and thrive ethos.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience in working under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging behaviour and have knowledge of supporting young people with complex needs and SEMH. Marland Residential are proud to have been graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted since 2022, this requires a high standard of consistency and professionalism from all team members at all times. A relevant level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards one is a requirement of this position.
