In 2015 we had great success with our inaugural four students achieving their Bronze award; Year 11 students Bradley Rosier & Ben Walden and Year 10 students Bradley Gilmour and Josh Page-Jamieson. This has in turn inspired a new group in 2016, with Brendon Walsh, Josh Thompson, Tristan Geen, Dane Toms and Connor Hearn in the process of completing their Bronze and Josh Page-Jamieson working towards his silver award.
2016: At the moment the bronze level students are preparing for their expeditions, planning their food and organising the camp site. Most have completed the physical aspect of the award due to the much appreciated input of the Residential Care Staff team who have organised and facilitated so many excellent sporting opportunities. With amongst others the local community enterprise ‘Madewell’ providing two of our students with a volunteering opportunity, it just requires the boys to focus their final effort on their chosen skills and Marland will proudly have a second successful year in this globally recognised and highly meaningful award scheme.
Well done all…!
